CONSTRUCTION: PLANE CONVERSATION AND NEWS REPORTING

A parent is on the phone to the teenagers. The visuals show a bird’s eye view shot of London from a plane. Small clouds float past over the huge panorama of familiar London landmarks like London Bridge. Our use of the green screen not only increases the formality of our trailer but it also raises the profile of it as well.
This was our thinking for the News Reporting scene as well, upon feedback it was advised that we do not use real news reporting- because if we used our own news reporting it would raise the profile and formality of our trailer.
We used the background for one of the reporters as a video of a North Korean test launch, to further show the level of threat and urgency. For the other we used a background of a BBC news room to further raise the profile of the film and to further show the urgency and seriousness of the imminent threat.

CONSTRUCTION: BRIEF ENCOUNTER SHOT

As the teenagers are setting out to run to the bunker hideaway, they stumble past another teenager (girl) lying injured on the ground, holding her badly injured leg. It is clear that she cannot walk and would be a hindrance. She shouts ‘Help!’ but they have to run on.
